Autumn has begun its arrival. Leaves are beginning to change.
Maybe our hearts change a little too, with the seasons. I would hope that the change in color, cooler temperatures – the sense of change – would imprint a softening in our hearts. I would like to be in tune with change, and be humble enough to accept change – to accept the challenge to learn and become a better person just a little bit.
In another comparison: how frail, really, are our desires, hopes, plans. Like leaves, they seem so important and beautiful one day and the next they are falling, changing color, or simply dying away. Yet we can stand a bit stronger, affected by them in a good way, but not despairing when they do not work out.
There is beauty in change, refreshment. Just as there is beauty in learning and being humble enough to accept our frailty and learn from it.
