_MG_7572Seeing the purple of these flowers reminds me of listening to my children’s audio history describing how purple dye was created two thousand plus years ago by Phoenicians, via the process of boiling snails (a smelly and expensive process) so that the cloth colored such, was very very expensive, allowing only the wealthy to be able to purchase it. With that in mind, the connotation of purple being a regal or kingly color has an honest beginning.

I don’t necessarily think of purple as regal when I see it now. It is relatively common, especially in girl items. But finding it in nature once again adds that element of surprise and beauty to its surroundings. And I especially love the soft purple/ lavender here.
