The other day we received one of those torrential (be it short lived) rains that we call a monsoon in this part of the country. Having grown up in the northwest, it doesn’t seem to warrant the name, except in how it affects life here. The roads and arroyos swell with water pretty rapidly, and the kids head out to experience the water. With this one, my children asked eagerly if they could go out and check “the puddle” (where the water pools at the end of our drive on the cul de sac that we live on). Here is my three year old wading in “the puddle” and enjoying the rain.
