I resurrected a couple of very old photos taken with film and scanned in some time ago. These were taken December 1999 in the Cherangani Hills of Kenya – one of the most peaceful places I’ve ever been to: no sound of motorized vehicle (land or air), no electricity. The kids were curious to see the white person (me). I saw contented kids. We cannot compare what we have to what they had. They were clothed and housed and fed, and I can only imagine what games they played together with their imaginations. I requested permission of the adults there to take their photo, and took the one photo before they disappeared back down the hill.
There is nothing quite like standing up in the tops of those hills and feeling the peace and quiet surround you.
